The Other Theatrical Productions subseries, 1973-2016, contains materials related to productions outside of Broadway and the circus. Production materials are arranged alphabetically by show title and run from McKinley’s early work as an actor in Las Vegas casinos through his transition to a directing career. If McKinley worked on the same show multiple times, these productions are in chronological order. Materials include papers related to his work on Paper Mill Playhouse productions, various touring versions of A Desert Song, international productions such as Hair and Das Phantom, Las Vegas resort shows, and other productions. This subseries also includes examples of McKinley’s work as a writer and composer for the 1980, 1981, and 1983 productions of A Christmas Carol. Papers include scripts, costume designs, set designs, programs, and playbills.

Also included are a number of Newspaper Clippings containing articles relating to various theatrical productions in which McKinley participated, and scrapbooks created by McKinley to document his professional career from 1970 to 2006. The scrapbooks contain mostly photographs and newspaper clippings but also include some programs, playbills and other memorabilia.
