 Series

Scope and Contents

The campus and community events series, 1930-2016 and undated, contains recordings of various events held on the Augustana College campus and in the Quad City community, including regular events such as Convocation, River Readings presentations, and LitWits events. Among these items are recordings of commemorative events related to campus buildings, including footage of the Wallberg Hall groundbreaking in 1935, the dedication of Andreen Hall in 1937, and the Wallberg Hall fire of 1955.

Some of the oldest events depicted in this series include field days, football practices, homecoming events, fairs, and campus celebrations, including possible footage of the Diamond Jubilee of 1935.

Also included are recordings of seminal events in the professional lives of Augustana College presidents, including Thomas Tredway's first convocation in 1988 and Conrad Bergendoff's installation (1 October 1936) and various birthday celebrations.
