Scope and Contents

The Design subseries (1904-1905 and undated) contains materials related to the design of a collar fastener patented by Maria. Called the "Combination Collar Fastener," this item predated the zipper. It was used to fasten collars and sometimes belts or pants. This subseries includes papers related to the collar fastener, including sample sheets, a packing list, advertisements, and advertising photographs, as well as a box of the collar fasteners themselves.
