Congregation records, 1894-2012 and undated

 Series

Scope and Contents

Congregation records, 1894-2012 and undated, contains materials created by or relating to members of the Trinity Lutheran Church congregation. Materials include annual reports and meeting minutes, membership records and statistics, records related to groups and committees within the congregation, clippings, church histories and remembrances, recordings of events and worship services held by the church, and computer files. Of note within this series are parish registers dating from the formation of the congregation in 1912. Parish registers, also called parochial reports, serve as records of membership and activities carried out within the church, including baptisms, communion, transfers, funerals, and departures from the church. Also included in this series are records of early ministerial acts, records related to the Seventh Street Sunday School (a precursor to Trinity's Sunday School program) and records related to Trinity's tape ministry, a lending library of recorded sermons that could be borrowed by parishioners who were unable to come to church services.
