Human relations committee - Correspondence re: BOS/BSU, 1979-1980
Scope and Contents
During a Homecoming parade in October 1979, the Beta Omega Sigma fraternity orchestrated a controversial skit involving three members dressed in KKK robes leading a fourth member in blackface with a noose around his neck. The fraternity was put on probation and required to attend a "Program for Racial Reconciliation and Understanding." This folder contains correspondence from Augustana community members and outside parties expressing their opinions on the skit and the subsequent punishment of BOS.
