Papers, 1929-1932, 1990-2007

 Series

Scope and Contents

Early papers in this series relate to the publication of the 1931 edition and primarily focus on the Rockety-I staff's finances. Materials include correspondence regarding advertising sales and financial records. The financial hardship faced by the Rockety-I staff at the onset of the Great Depression is evident in their correspondence and strained financial relationships with local businesses who purchased yearbook ads.

Also included in this series is a 1990 scrapbook containing correspondence and information gathered at the end of the 1980s and notes and brief letters from editor Jon Sjolund to future editors giving tips and explaining practices. Sjolund organized the scrapbook into the following sections: Rockety-I and the College, Budget Reports, Finding a Publisher, Photographic Art, Getting Started: Assembling the Editorial Staff, and Educating the Staff.

Later records relate to the publication of various early-2000s editions of the Rockety-I, including an edition for 2006 that was never published.
