The Nancy Huse papers, 1974-2006 and undated, primarily relate to Huse's role in promoting women's rights at Augustana College. Materials include foundational documents related to Augustana College's Committee on the Status of Women, which was created in response to the Women's Educational Equity Act; supplementary materials for Huse's classes; and copies of essays, 1994-2006, that won the Mary Wollstonecraft Writing Award for excellence in women's and gender studies scholarship.

Historical Note
Nancy Huse began teaching at Augustana College in 1972. After obtaining her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, she became the director of first year student advising and orientation in the Augustana College English department. She helped found the college's Women's and Gender Studies program in 1985. Professor Huse retired in 2006 after 34 years of teaching at Augustana.

The Nancy Huse papers, 1974-2006 and undated, primarily relate to Huse's role in promoting women's rights at Augustana College. Papers include foundational documents for Augustana College's Committee on the Status of Women, materials Huse accumulated in support of her classes, and winning essays of the Mary Wollstonecraft Writing Award for excellence in women's and gender studies scholarship.
