The Ethel E. Pearson scrapbook, 1918-1922, contains newspaper clippings, programs, souvenirs, pictures, wedding invitations, pressed flowers, Valentines, Christmas cards, academic reports, tuition bills, scorecards, ticket stubs, and fellow students' autographs. The materials document Ethel’s time at Augustana and are related to the social and personal activities she was involved in between 1918 and 1922.

Historical Note

Ethel Elvera Pearson attended Augustana College from 1918 to 1922. A graduate of Davenport High School, she majored in biological science at Augustana. While at Augustana, Pearson was a member of the Adelphic Society, Edward Everett Debating Club, the Augustana Foreign Missionary Society, and the Senior Girl’s Club. She was a founding member of the Phi Rho sorority and was on the Class Honor Roll. She acted as the Science Club secretary and treasurer in 1921 and 1922, and the Woman’s Club treasurer in those years as well. Pearson graduated from Augustana in 1922 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and became engaged to Paul Reinertson (Augustana College class of 1921). She later taught the University High School in Normal, Illinois.
