Historical Note

The Office of Development (now the Office of Advancement) at Augustana College creates capital campaigns and fundraising strategies in order to raise money to improve and develop the Augustana campus and facilities. While fundraising took place throughout the history of the college, the development office was officially established during the C.W. Sorensen administration, with Roger Peterson being named the first director of development in 1962.

The Augustana College Alumni Association was created in 1877, and every graduate is granted automatic membership. The group communicates with alumni to ask for contributions toward the Augustana Fund and other projects. Various other campaigns produce building proposals and progress reports that are given to members and potential donors.
