Scope and Contents

The Ingemar Larson papers, 1947-1997, consists of two scrapbooks created by Larson. Scrapbook pages have been removed from their original three-ring binders and housed in archival folders.

The first scrapbook contains papers related to the Harold T. and Violet M. Jaeke Award for campus leadership, which Larson won in 1991. Materials include a photograph of Larson and his wife, Kay, the Jaeke award certificate, a letter of congratulations from president Thomas Tredway, clippings, a list of Jaeke award recipients, press releases, a 1991 Alumni Banquet program, three issues of the Augustana College magazine (1981, 1991, and 1995), and photographs of the chair that Larson received in recognition of his service.

The second scrapbook primarily includes papers related to Larson's retirement in 1995. Ephemeral items in the scrapbook include a 1947 Clarissa High School diploma, newsclippings, press releases, invitations, and programs from the college's baccalaureate and commencement exercises (1995). The scrapbook also includes letters of congratulations sent to Larson from former students and photographs of Larson and his students and colleagues at his retirement party.
