Abstract

Karl Yost was born on February 11, 1911 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Lloyd and Gertrude (Morgan) Yost. He earned his doctorate of jurisdiction from Northwestern University in 1934. He became a well-known Charles M. Russell expert, and published two bibliographies of his works. Yost also published several reprints of rare Americana. He was the president of the Premier Boy’s State of American Legion, and served on the Boy’s State Commission from 1964 until his death. Yost had two sons, Lloyd and Charles. He died at age 76 on October 15, 1987 in Moline. Materials include catalogs and indexes to the personal collection of books that Yost donated to Augustana College Special Collections, and items removed from the books.
