In 1946, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled to the Badlands, the Black Hills, and Deadwood in South Dakota; Sylvan Lake, Long's Peak, Loch Vale, and Estes Park in Colorado; the Devil's Tower National Monument and the Big Horn Mountains (including Lake Helen, Lake Solitude, Ten Sleep Canyon, and Hot Springs State Park) in Wyoming.
