Abstract Aglaia Honor Society was founded in 1940 as an honor society for senior class women at Augustana College. The society chose to name itself after Algaia, or "Brillance," one of the three graces of Greek mythology. In 1946, the group began a long campaign to establish itself as a chapter of the Mortar Board, a national women's honor society. Abstract Augustana's Prohibition League was one of fifteen college chapters forming the Intercollegiate Prohibition Association. Augustana College Social Committee records

Abstract

The Augustana College Social Committee was organized in 1937, replacing the former Board of Control of Social Activities. The group claimed to "ignore organizational frontiers, including all students in its plans." The committee planned numerous all-school social events throughout the school year, including Halloween and Christmas parties as well as a Spring picnic. This collection contains the group's meeting minutes from 1937 to 1948.

The constitution of the club was soon amended to include women faculty members and wives of the faculty. Augustana Dance Company videotapes and program

Abstract

The Augustana Dance Company was formed at Augustana College by Velda Williams in spring 1983. The Augustana Dance Company videotapes and program includes original VHS videorecordings of performances and dress rehearsals, 1989-2000, and DVD preservation copies of the recordings. Also included is a program, 2000, for a joint performance of Augustana Dance Company and UNYK Multicultural Dance Troupe.
