Abstract
Carter Henry Harrison, Sr. (1825-1893) was an American politician who served four terms as mayor of Chicago, Illinois, from 1879 until 1887. In 1888-1889 he took a trip around the world, an account of which he published in a book entitled A Race with the Sun. This collection consists of a scrapbook containing Harrison's newspaper columns about a portion of the trip.
