Scope and Contents
The Professional subseries contains artifacts from Broadway productions (2003-2004 and undated), Other Theatrical Productions (1990-2013 and undated), andRingling Bros., Barnum and Bailey (1996-2007 and undated), as well as Artwork (1977 and undated) and Posters (undated). Broadway artifacts include materials from The Boy From Oz, including a pair of dance shoes worn in the production, two towels imprinted with the show's logo, and a tote bag commemorating the 2003–2004 Tony Awards, for which the show was nominated. Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey artifacts include ID tags used for backstage access and for the circus’ winter camp from 1996 to 2007, a bobble head in the shape of the circus performer, Bello, two set models, and a glass paperweight with two elephants inset commemorating the 135th Edition of the Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey Circus. This section also includes a model of a bejeweled motorcycle with an accompanying model bird that can be spread over the motorcycle’s handlebars. The actual motorcycle was used for performer Mei Ling’s act in the 132nd Edition of Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey Circus
