Glacier National Park, Waterton-Glacier International, Peace Park, Montana and Alberta, Canada [2 folders], 1995
Scope and Contents
The Jean Schilling scrapbooks, 1975-2003, contains scrapbooks compiled by Schilling, mostly containing her own photographs of the Black Hawk Hiking Club’s annual Big Hikes. Additional materials include newspaper clippings, letters, photographs from fellow hikers, and memorabilia. Photographs depict the group and its members as well as scenic views. Three scrapbooks are not related to Big Hikes, but instead depict small group ski trips to Estes Park, Colorado, in 1981, 1984, and 1985.
Three Big Hikes are not represented in the collection: Vermont 1984, Canada 1985, and Washington 1990. Additionally, the 1997 Big Hike to Michigan was mislabeled as occurring in 1993; it has been housed in Box 9 with the 1997-1998 trips.
