Scope and Contents
The Swedish Pioneer Centennial Commemorating the first Congregation of Swedish Lutherans in Midwestern America series, 1948, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the founding of a Swedish Lutheran church in New Sweden, Iowa, which led to the establishment of the Lutheran Augustana Synod. The series contains three handbooks about the history of the founding of the congregation and three programs from the celebrations hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Augustana Synod of North America at Augustana College.
