Scrapbook, undated
Scope and Contents
The Olof Nelson Glim papers, 1933-1944 and undated, contains a scrapbook of pressed flowers and plants entitled Flora of the U.S. and Europe and a collection of envelopes with commemorative stamps from significant events and anniversaries. Approximately 100 samples of flowers are dried and pressed between the pages of the scrapbook. At the bottom of each page is a literary quote relating to flowers or plants. The quotes are written primarily in English and Swedish. The envelopes are attached to loos scrapbook pages, with three envelopes addressed to Gilm or his wife attached to each page. Each envelope and stamp commemorates a major event or anniversary, such as the tercentenary of Swedish settlement in Delaware and the Iowa Territory centennial, and many are postmarked from places related to the events in question.
