Scope and Contents
The Robert Fairman papers, 1946-1960, 2006, consists of two folders.
The Augustana College Choir folder contains papers related to the choir and Fairman’s time at Augustana, including sheet music and a Swedish translation of “Oh What a Beautiful Mornin’;” two group photographs of the 1955 choir; clippings, 1955-1956, largely related to the choir’s appearance on Ed Sullivan’s “The Toast of the Town;” correspondence between Fairman and his parents while on tour; programs for choir performances, including a program for the 1956 Convocation and Baccalaureate ceremonies; an itinerary for the choir’s 1955 tour; Fairman’s 1946 letter of acceptance to Augustana College; and an S.S. America visitor’s pass.
The Augustana class reunion information folder contains a program and memorabilia from the 1960 Augustana College Choir 30th reunion, including a photograph of Henry Veld, and program information for the class of 1956’s 50th reunion and alumni weekend, held 19-21 May 2006.
