Historical Note
Miriam May Zwicker was born in Rock Island, Illinois, in 1915. She attended Rock Island High School and graduated in 1933. She then enrolled at Augustana College, which she attended from 1934 until her graduation in 1938, and majored in German. While at Augustana, she worked for Dr. Charles L. E. Esbjorn (professor of German) grading German notebooks, graded papers for Dr. Earl A. Beyer (professor of romance languages), and was involved with Augustana's Independent Women. She married Reinhold Schroeder 16 September 1950 and passed away 1 September 1978.
