Scope and Contents
The Collection of Augustana College buildings and grounds records, 1884-2012 and undated, was assembled by Special Collections staff to document the changing nature of the Augustana College campus. The collection contains materials related to various campus buildings, structures, construction projects, and facilities. Materials primarily include blueprints, floorplans, building sketches, photographs, building dedication programs, building histories, film and video footage, and newsclippings.

Historical Note
Augustana College moved to its present location in Rock Island, Illinois in 1875. The oldest still-standing building is Old Main, which was constructed in the 1880s. Several other buildings have either been torn down or repurposed over the course of the school's history.

Arrangement
Materials related to specific buildings have been grouped together according to the buildings' purpose (e.g. Science Buildings, Dormitories). Within subseries, materials are largely arranged chronologically.

This collection was assembled over time by Special Collections staff. 2022 accession received from Brandon Tidwell, 2018. 2024 accession received from Chris Beyer (Residential Life), February 2024.
