Harriet Wheeler papers

 Collection
Identifier: MSS 62

Scope and Contents

The Harriet Wheeler papers, 1921-1975 and undated, largely relate to Wheeler’s interest in Augustana College and her continued participation with the college through the Alumni Association for many years after her graduation. Wheeler saved personal memorabilia from her commencement, her time at Augustana College, and the Alumni Association. In addition, she maintained a correspondence with the Alumni Association about gift giving and alumni events. This collection includes a few loose scrapbook pages made by Wheeler that are filled with newspaper clippings about Augustana and memorabilia for Augustana events, such as invitations, programs, and tickets. Lastly, Wheeler collected newspaper articles, copies of The Augustana Observer, and Augustana College Bulletins* during her time at Augustana and after her graduation; these articles demonstrate Wheeler’s interest in college events and information about Augustana during and after her attendance.
