The Jones, Mason & Co. financial records consist of four ledgers plus several loose enclosures. The ledgers includes a day book, a cash book, a double entry ledger, and a record of bills payable. The enclosures include additional financial data. Among the enclosures are several pages of what appear to be class notes.

Historical Note
Jones, Mason & Co. began as a general store as early as 1879. This iteration of the firm is not identified by name in the records. In 1897, the company's day book notes a partnership between William Jones and Thomas Mason to form a new firm, Jones and Mason, and the company began to sell furniture and cabinetry. Later that year, Jones and Mason brought in Henry P. Smith as an investor and changed the firm's name to Jones, Mason & Co. The location of the firm is unknown.
