Steven C. Bahls papers

Stephen C. Bahls, the eighth president of Augustana College, was born in Iowa in 1954. He attended several universities to earn his law degrees, including University of Iowa and Northwestern University. Bahls then held positions as dean and professor in a series of universities. He also practiced law professionally for a period of time. Bahls was appointed to the position of president of Augustana College in 2003. He has facilitated the construction and renovation of the Duane R. Swanson Commons and Carlsson Evald Hall. Bahls has also overseen the creation of the “Five Faith Commitments of Augustana College.” His collection includes professional correspondence, a draft of the “Five Faith Commandments of Augustana College,” and a financial report and memo.
