Abstract

Erwin Weber was born on April 17, 1921, in Leichlingen, Germany. In order to decrease his family’s cost of living, he was raised in a foster home, then in an orphanage, with several of his siblings. Weber immigrated to the United States in 1936 when he was 15. He later became a German professor at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois. Materials in this collection inclue notebooks, files, manuscripts of professional writings, books, photographs, slides, and photo albums, DVDs, coins, stamps, post cards, and published materials.
