Scope and Contents

The Augustana College Office of the Registrar handles student and faculty records, especially concerning classes and schedules. The collection includes the Chicago, Paxton, and Rock Island records, which encompass catalogs, attendance records, financial records, class schedules, correspondence, and class testimonials. The collection also includes historical survey books. Although the registrar's records comprise one single record group, the collection is currently organized into six discrete collections numbered MSS 241-MSS 241e. Descriptions of those collections follow:

MSS 241: Matriculation records

MSS 241a and MSS 241b: registration records

MSS 241c: early student registration forms

MSS 241d: Materials in this collection include Army Air Corps student rules and personnel forms, “Ground School” records, Civilian Pilot Training contracts, CPT applications, permanent record cards, inventory of supplies, policy and procedures manual, statistics, college seal maker, records of transcripts, high school transcripts, and correspondence.

MSS 241e: permanent record cards for students who graduated prior to 1940.
