Grant D. Hanson stamp collection
Abstract
Grant Hanson was born on March 14, 1911, in Sioux City, Iowa. He attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, and graduated in 1933. Hanson then married in August 1941, and continued his education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He attended the library school there from 1940 until 1942. Hanson worked for the Augustana College Library, and then earned his master in library sciences at the University of Michigan in 1944. In 1945, Hanson became the head librarian of Gustavus Adolphus College. He accepted a position as the assistant director of the library at Iowa State University in 1950. Hanson died from a brain aneurism in June 1951. This collection consists of two volumes of his stamp collection.
