Content Description

The Samuel Frederick Telleen photograph album contains photographs from S. Frederick Telleen's activities as a layperson in the Lutheran Church in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s as well as a photograph of the Augustana College Class of 1895 at their 50th reunion in 1945. A note on the inside front cover indicates that the contents include photographs related to the United Lutheran Church, National Lutheran Council, Lutheran Church House, Baltimore, Church of the Advent, Ronneby [Sweden], Knäred [Sweden], Ridgewood [New Jersey], Cambridge, Class of '95, Augustana College, and Sky Line Drive. Many of the photographs appear to be publicity photos and contain marks indicating the name of the professional photographer or studio. Several have typewritten captions providing additional information. Especially noteworthy are several interior shots of the Lutheran Church House in New York City, which was the former home of J. Pierpont Morgan and is currently part of the Morgan Library. The photograph of the Augustana College Class of 1895 contains seven unidentified alumni standing in academic robes.
