Historical Note

In 1918, the state of Illinois celebrated its centennial with a state fair in Springfield. Several colleges and universities contributed booths to the fair, and Augustana College's booth was awarded a bronze medal for best exhibition. The Augustana exhibit consisted of pamphlets, photos, various souvenirs, and books written by faculty and alumni. In the spirit of the Centennial Fair, the booth displayed photos of early campus buildings and proposed plans for future developements.
