In 1956, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club went to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument, Lake City, and the Colorado National Monument in Colorado.

On their annual trip in 1957, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club visited Three Forks National Park, the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming; as well as the Black Hills, the Badlands, and Devils Tower in South Dakota.

On the 39th Big Hike in 1958, the Black Hawk Hiking Club went to Dinosaur National Monument in Utah.

In 1959, the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled to the San Juan Wilderness Area, Durango, and Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado; as well as Arches National Park in Utah.

For their 41st Big Hike, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club trekked to the Oregon coast, Humboldt National Park in California, and Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.

In 1961, the Black Hawk Hiking Club made its way to the Green River in Utah and Colorado.

In 1962, the Black Hawk Hiking Club went to Idaho to visit Red Fish Lake and the Sawtooth Mountains.

In 1963, the Black Hawk Hiking Club toured western Colorado.

For their 45th Big Hike, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club journeyed west to the Bridge Creek Wilderness Area in Oregon and the Grand Tetons in Wyoming.
