For the 49th annual Big Hike, the Black Hawk Hiking Club went to the Isle Royale National Park, Michigan; as well as North Shore Drive, Pigeon River, and Kakbeka Falls in Canada.

In 1969, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club visited Red Canyon, Ashley National Forest, and Flaming Gorge in Utah; as well as Abilene, Kansas.

In 1970, the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled to Colorado, making stops at the Royal Gorge, Monarch Pass, and Quarter-Circle Ranch in Gunnison.

In 1971, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club traveled westward once again, making stops in Mitchell, the Badlands, and the Black Hills in South Dakota; as well as Cody, Yellowstone National Park, and Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

In 1972, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club toured Europe, stopping in Brussels, Belgium; Boulogne and Paris in France; London, England; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Copenhagen, Denmark; Koblenz and Oberammergau in Germany; Lucerne, Switzerland; Salzburg and Vienna in Austria; Rome and Nice in Italy; and Barcelona, Spain.

On their 55th Big Hike, members of the Black Hawk Hiking Club toured New Mexico, stopping at Bandelier National Monument, Santa Fe, Picuris Pueblo, Taos Pueblo, and Taos.
