This folder contains two items: a policy statement document urging Augustana College to strive for “equal opportunities” and “equal results;" and the committee's first newsletter, 29 March 1976, summarizing the purposes of the committee, detailing issues concerning the committee (such as a request to establish a women’s center on campus), and advertising classes offered on campus pertaining to the Women’s Rights Movement.

The Nancy Huse papers, 1974-2006 and undated, primarily relate to Huse's role in promoting women's rights at Augustana College. Materials include foundational documents related to Augustana College's Committee on the Status of Women, which was created in response to the Women's Educational Equity Act; supplementary materials for Huse's classes; and copies of essays, 1994-2006, that won the Mary Wollstonecraft Writing Award for excellence in women's and gender studies scholarship.
