Abstract
Sister Ingeborg Nystul was born in Norway in April 1880. She immigrated to the United States by herself, living first in New York and then in North Dakota. Nystul later attended the Bethesda Home and Deaconess Institute in St. Paul, Minnesota, becoming the first medically trained, consecrated deaconess in September 1906. Joseph Benjamin Oakleaf (1858-1930) was a lawyer and book collector from Moline, Illinois. He was known for the historical collections he accumulated, including one of the world's largest collections of material related to Abraham Lincoln. Charlotte J. Odman attended Augustana College from 1934 to 1938. After graduating, Odman worked for the Augustana Book Concern in Rock Island, Illinois, and later at the Board of Publication of the Lutheran Church of America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Margaret Olmsted joined the Augustana faculty in 1921. She was among one of the earliest female professors at the school. In 1937, she was named Associate Professor of Latin and Mathematics. She was known for her love of teaching, and often stressed the importance of studying foreign languages. After 46 years of teaching, she retired in 1967. The Olof Rudbeck Society, named after a Swedish scientist and author, was active on Augustana College’s campus from 1910 until 1928. As one of several Swedish literary societies on campus, the Olof Rudbeck Society was established to further the study of Swedish language and literature.

Abstract
The Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society was founded at Washington and Lee University in 1914. The Augustana College chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, referred to as the Augustana “circle” by the society, was established in 1962 by eleven students and six faculty members. The Omicron Delta Kappa records, 1957-1976 and undated, includes booklets, meeting minutes, chapter and national correspondence, newspaper clippings, bulletins, and membership criteria.

Abstract
The Omicron Sigma Omicron fraternity was founded at Augustana College in 1920. The original acronym for the Omicron Sigma Omicron fraternity was “Oso,” but it changed to “OZO” sometime in the 1960s. In December of 1980, the fraternity disbanded as it turned in its charter; it was re-established in 1983. The entirety of the Omicron Sigma Omicron records, 1969-2008, including a description of the collection's contents and container list, is restricted to active OZO members and alumni.
