He was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where his father was the minister, until the church dissolved. Overview Jean Schilling was a longtime member of the Black Hawk Hiking Club. She attended over 25 of the club's annual "Big Hikes," which were conducted throughout the United States and Canada. The Jean Schilling scrapbooks, 1975-2003, contains scrapbooks compiled by Schilling, mostly containing her own photographs of the Black Hawk Hiking Club’s annual Big Hikes.
