Abstract In 1961, churches in Rock Island County, Illinois, and Scott County, Iowa, formed the "Council of Churches of Scott and Rock Island Counties." Abstract Augustana College's Wennerberg Male Chorus was formed in October 1901. Gustav Andreen, then president of Augustana College, had requested that a male chorus be organized to participate in the Gunnar Wennerberg Festival to be held the following December. Abstract Margaret Olmsted joined the Augustana faculty in 1921. She was among one of the earliest female professors at the school. In 1937, she was named Associate Professor of Latin and Mathematics. Ira O. Nothstein papers

Abstract Ira O. Nothstein served as the head librarian and archivist for Augustana College from 1918 to 1959. He was ordained by the Augustana Lutheran Church in Philadelphia after graduating from Mount Airy Lutheran Theological Seminary. Later, in 1928, Nothstein was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Muhlenberg College. He also wrote a children's book entitled Sylvia of the Birches. The Ira O.
