Astronomy notebook
The astronomy notebook, circa 1880s, contains definitions of astronomical and other scientific terminology, mathematical equations, longitudinal and latitudinal coordinates, drawings, figures, triangulations, word problems, and other notes, presumably produced in an astronomy class at Augustana College. Nothing is known about its provenance.

Theodore Celms, Augustana College professor from 1949 to 1963 and 1967 to 1973, was one of the many scholars evacuated from Eastern Europe during World War II. The Robert Cooper collection on Theodore Celms consists of photocopies of several short biographical articles on Dr. Celms, including announcements about his death, and photocopies of Cooper's class notes from Celms's 1961 Philosophy of Culture course.

Henry Reck notebook
Henry Reck was born near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, 24 August 1829. He was ordained as a Lutheran minister in 1852 and served two congregations and two orphanages until he was called to teach at Augustana College in Paxton, Illinois, in 1871. The Henry Reck notebook contains lecture notes dealing with apologetics, Bible study, and theology in general; these notes appear to be from his time at Gettysburg Seminary.
