Abstract The Quad City Symphony Orchestra held its first concert on May 19, 1916, at the Burtis Opera House in Davenport, Iowa. At the time, the orchestra was known as the Tri-City Symphony Orchestra, and had a conductor, sixty musicians, and two soloists. The group changed its name to the Quad City Symphony in 1985.
