Abstract
Trinity Lutheran Church was founded in 1912 in Moline, Illinois, and continues to operate as of 2017. At the time of its founding, Trinity was one of the only English-speaking churches chartered with the Augustana Synod, a Swedish branch of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Sven Gustaf Youngert immigrated to the United States from Sweden in 1886 at the age of 25. He studied at Augustana College and Theological Seminary for six years, until he was ordained as a minister in 1892. Throughout his life, he alternated between serving as a pastor for church parishes throughout the country and teaching at Augustana Theological Seminary.
