Spencer, Jesse

Abstract Jesse E. Spencer was a resident of Rock Island, Illinois, who collected books mainly between the years of 1910 and 1930. His private collection contained roughly 3800 volumes, and was purchased from the Millicent Spencer estate by Augustana College in 1949. The books were transferred to the college by the Van Norman Book Company of Galesburg.
