Scope and Contents
Printed material, 1805-1981, primarily consists of newsclippings gathered by the Carr-Lukens family and printed items owned by various members of the family. Included in this series are several farmer's almanacs, 1805-1837, some of which contain notes and marginalia written by their owners. Of note is a folder of clippings and reminiscences on the subject of Eliza Jane Carr Lukens' involvement in the Lincoln-Douglas debate of 1858. The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International papers, 1973-1977, includes correspondence, certificates, and other papers related to Richard A. Welch and his wife, Lois Webster Welch, being designated Paul Harris Fellows of the organization.
