O. Fritiof Ander papers
Abstract
Oscar Fritiof Ander was born in Sweden in 1903, and immigrated to the United States in 1921. He attended Augustana College, and graduated in 1926 with his bachelor’s degree. Ander returned to teach history at the college in 1930, and became the head of the department in 1935. He was a member of several historical societies, including the Augustana Historical Society. Ander retired from his position in 1968, and returned to Sweden. He died in California in 1978, where he had been vacationing. His papers include biographical information, personal and professional correspondence, history notes (as a student), lecture notes (as a professor), radio speeches, press releases, published and unpublished writings, research notes, newspaper articles, and photographs.
