Abstract Augustana’s Reading/Writing Center provides tutoring services for students on reading comprehension, academic writing, English language learning, and graduate entrance exam preparation. The Center was founded as the Writing Laboratory in 1975, operating out of the basement of East Hall. Its original director was English faculty member Charlene Hawks.
