Erland Levi Borg was an Augustana alumnus and Lutheran minister. The Erland Levi Borg papers, 1926-1993 and undated, contains articles, pamphlets, receipts, music uniforms, and paraphernalia regarding the Augustana Concert Band European Tour of 1928 and other campus organizations. Ken Brink (1913-2001) was a lifelong resident of Moline and spent his professional life as a cost accountant at John Deere. He was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where his father was the minister, until the church dissolved. Jane Sweet Brissman (1910-2006) became Augustana's first full time physical education teacher for women when she joined the faculty in 1936. During her time at Augustana she instituted a physical education program for women and founded "play days" for female students. Betsey Brodahl was born and raised in Wahoo, Nebraska, where she attended grade school and high school and one year at Luther College. Upon the urging of two instructors at Luther College, Brodahl applied at Augustana College to continue her college education. She was accepted, and graduated with a B. A. in history in 1944. Abstract
John Brown was a bus driver for the Greyhound bus company. He was first hired by Augustana College in 1942 to drive the Augustana Choir on their annual tour. He drove the choir on their tour for 33 years, until his retirement in 1975. The choir nicknamed him “Brownie,” and would request him as their driver every year. Bror Carlson was a Swedish pastor who researched the life of Olof Olsson. Carlsson compiled a manuscript of several hundred pages before his death in 1967. His son, Alf Brorson, edited the manuscript into a 63-page book in 1984. He donated the original manuscript and the published book to the college.
