Netta Bartholomew Anderson papers

Overview Netta C. Bartholomew Anderson was one of the first six women to graduate from Augustana College, earning her degree in 1894. She was active in student groups at Augustana and remained active in the Rock Island community and with the Augustana Alumni Association after graduating. She was an early proponent of women's rights and a prolific writer and researcher. J.E.W. Wallin and L.E. Jones correspondence

Overview L. E. Jones and J.E.W. Wallin were both Augustana College alumni. L.E. Jones corresponded frequently with Wallin under the auspices of the Augustana Alumni Association board and as alumni editor of the Augustana Observer. Their correspondence largely centers Wallin’s implorations to Jones to publish a bibliography of his work and Jones’s attempts to convince Wallin to contribute to the Observer.

Overview Harriet Rachel Wheeler was born on 23 June 1903 in Davenport, Iowa. She attended Cornell College before enrolling at Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois in September 1924. Wheeler was a member of the Woman's Club, and was often on the honor roll. She graduated in 1927 with an A.B. in History. After her graduation, she remained involved with the Alumni Association of Augustana College through correspondence and gift giving.
