The Beta Omega Sigma social club (fraternity) was founded at Augustana College 10 December 1929. The organization is known as the “BOS." The Beta Omega Sigma records include fraternity meeting minutes, information about fraternity events, photographs, a fraternity newsletter, and an Augustana Observer article about a fraternity member.

Elfriede Beyer papers

Abstract

Elfriede Leschewski Beyer was a German immigrant, a member of the Black Hawk Hiking Club, and an award-winning artist active in the Rock Island area in the mid-twentieth century. The Elfriede Beyer papers, 1927-1989 and undated, contains two of Beyer's sketchbooks, Beyer's obituary, and personal notes removed from the sketchbooks.

John Robert Bishop papers

Abstract John Robert Bishop was born in 1926 and grew up in Clinton, Iowa, before moving to downtown Davenport, Iowa, where he worked as a television repairman. He is most notable for founding the American Nazi Party - Iowa unit in Davenport in the early 1960s. Bishop died in February 1985 in Davenport. Abstract The Black Hawk Hiking Club Records, 1918-2004 and undated, contain meeting minutes, membership records, bulletins, scrapbooks, slides, and miscellaneous newspaper clippings and photographs. The Black Hawk Hiking Club was formed in 1920 as the Black Hawk Prairie Club, whose purpose was to promote outdoor recreation in the form of walks, outings, camping, and canoeing. John Bleuer papers

Abstract

John Bleuer was born in Switzerland on December 14, 1846. He moved to the United States in 1854. Bleuer was a resident of Rock Island, Illinois, for 75 years. He was a contractor and builder, and married Christine K. Schoepf on October 24, 1867. Bleuer died on January 17, 1930. Materials in this collection include newspaper clippings, photographs, church programs, and an abbreviated family tree.

Erland Levi Borg was an Augustana alumnus and Lutheran minister. The Erland Levi Borg papers, 1926-1993 and undated, contains articles, pamphlets, receipts, music uniforms, and paraphernalia regarding the Augustana Concert Band European Tour of 1928 and other campus organizations. There is also biographical information regarding Borg's life after Augustana and photographs of Band Tour Reunions. Materials have been arranged into series according to accession date.

Abstract Ken Brink (1913-2001) was a lifelong resident of Moline and spent his professional life as a cost accountant at John Deere. He was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church, where his father was the minister, until the church dissolved. Brink then became a member of First Congregational Church, where he continued to be an active member of the congregation and the church choir.
