Ephraim and Louise Manning were interested in participating in the Quad Cities community and its history. They were members of groups such as the Black Hawk Hiking Club, Friendship Force of the Quad Cities, and Viewfinders Camera Club. Materials in the collection include newspaper clippings on local history and historic homes, world affairs, local news, and medical news; photos, slides, scrapbook pages, and cassette tapes.

K. A. Martin (also, Karl Axel or Carl Axel) was born in Horn, Östergötland, Sweden on January 22, 1863. He came to the United States in 1881, and arrived at Augustana College and Theological Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois in 1884. He attended the college from 1886-1888, and the seminary from 1892-1894. Martin was ordained in St. Peter, Minnesota on June 10, 1894. James McLure was a landowner in Pennsylvania in the late 18th century. This collection consists of a deed for the purchase of land in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, signed by Peter Muhlenberg, Vice President of the Supreme Executive Council of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 25 September 1888. The document was signed only two weeks before Muhlenberg vacated his post under mysterious circumstances (and without notice to the Council) in early October 1888.
