Abstract Mel Peterson was born July 30, 1930, in Moline, Illinois, to Oscar and Jeanette Anderson Peterson. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Augustana College in 1953, and then obtained a master’s degree from the University of Illinois and a doctorate from Oklahoma State University. Roger w. Peterson was a 1947 graduate of Augustana College. In 1963, after serving as vice-president of Marshall Erdman and Associates he because Augustana’s first director of development. Peterson then returned to Marshall Erdman. This collection includes photographs of Peterson, including his time in the military during World War II and his time at Augustana both as a student and administrator.

Phrateres, Omicron Chapter records

Abstract

The Phrateres was an all female organization for college students centered around socialization, leadership, networking and service. By 1944, there were 13 official chapters, including one at the University of British Columbia, making it an international organization. Augustana College's chapter, Omicron, was founded in 1941. The Phrateres, Omicron Chapter records, 1940-1945 and undated, contains the group's constitution, meeting minutes, bulletins, the group song, and other records.

Pi Upsilon Gamma newsletters

Abstract

Pi Upsilon Gamma was a fraternity active at Augustana College from 1916 to 1993, when its charter was revoked due to violations of the college hazing policy. This collection consists of one box of newsletters entitled the “Pug Service Growler.” This newsletter was distributed to PUG members and alumni during and immediately following World War II to update the membership on the wartime activities, locations, and deaths of members serving in the armed forces.
