Abstract
Flavius J. Sten was born in St. Helens, Oregon. He attended the Augustana Academy for high school until 1911, when he entered Augustana College. He was involved in many organizations during his college career, most notably the basketball program. As a freshman, he was a forward on the varsity basketball team, a position he would hold until he graduated. He also coached the girls' basketball team.
