Collection of Augustana College Buildings and Grounds records

Overview The Collection of Augustana College buildings and grounds records, 1884-2012 and undated, was assembled by Special Collections staff to document the changing nature of the Augustana College campus. The collection contains materials related to various campus buildings, structures, construction projects, and facilities. Materials primarily include blueprints, floorplans, building sketches, photographs, building dedication programs, building histories, film and video footage, and newsclippings.

Augustana College charter and constitutions

Overview Augustana College was founded by Swedish Lutherans in Chicago as Augustana Theological Seminary in 1860. The Augustana College charter and constitutions contains 1869 charter as well as several stages of the constitution.

Augustana College Jazz Festival records

Overview The Augustana College Jazz Festival ran from 1972 to 1995 and offered Quad City Area high school jazz bands and musicians the opportunity to perform on the college stage. The Augustana College Jazz Festival records primarily contain binders of photographs of the various jazz bands that participated in the festival from 1986-1995. Also included is a folder of enclosures, 1990-1994 and undated, which were removed from the binders.

Erland Levi Borg papers

Overview Erland Levi Borg was an Augustana alumnus and Lutheran minister. The Erland Levi Borg papers, 1926-1993 and undated, contains articles, pamphlets, receipts, music uniforms, and paraphernalia regarding the Augustana Concert Band European Tour of 1928 and other campus organizations. There is also biographical information regarding Borg's life after Augustana and photographs of Band Tour Reunions. Materials have been arranged into series according to accession date.

Overview John Henry Hauberg was a prolific researcher and photographer active in the Quad Cities area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The John Henry Hauberg glass plate images, 1880-1947 and undated, contains roughly 8,000 glass plate images photographed by John Hauberg over the course of his life.

Overview John Henry Hauberg was a businessman, philanthropist, civic organizer, researcher, and photographer active in Rock Island and the Quad Cities area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Hauberg and his wife, Susanne Denkmann Hauberg, were very active in the Quad Cities community, serving on many advisory boards and organizing dozens of philanthropic initiatives. Illinois Centennial State Fair collection

Overview In 1918, the state of Illinois celebrated its centennial with a state fair in Springfield. Several colleges and universities contributed booths to the fair, and Augustana College's booth was awarded a bronze medal for best exhibition. The Illinois Centennial State Fair collection, 1918, contains a bronze medal given to Augustana College for Best Exhibit by an Illinois College, news clippings from Augustana College publications, and a guest register.
